Although the hall is shut down for normal operations, the Red Cross, with the support of our council and other groups within Salem, such as the Police and Fire Department, has conducted blood drives during the pandemic in our hall. The need for blood is even more urgent during this time. While we Knights cannot at this time offer our repast of a good Italian meal, we still welcome all our faithful donors.
Butch Kealey, our council blood drive chairman, is proud to report that in 2020, there has been 541 pints of blood going out past our hall doors.
That is over 67 gallons of blood!
July 2018 report:
Under the leadership of Butch Kealey, chairman, Council 4442 is proud to host blood drives throughout the year in support of the American Red Cross. Through the dedication of a group of members, their families and friends of the council, donors enjoy a relaxing atmosphere in which to make their donation and are provided with an Italian fare and beverages as a way of saying "thank you" for their support. And not to brag, but our council, year after year, has collected the most blood of any council for the Red Cross in New Hampshire.
